For years people have wondered how ski shops manage to do a much better tune and make your skis way faster than you ever could. You think “I’m using the same Wax so why cant I make my skis as fast as they do. Well they answer may shock you. It’s not that you’re putting the wrong stuff on your skis, it’s that your not putting it on the whole ski.
For years I thought that there was no reason to wax any part of my ski that doesn’t touch the snow. You would think thats all you need because all the resistance comes from the ground, WRONG idiot. There’s a little thing called air/wind resistance, which is why you need to make sure you wax your top sheets ,bindings, and sidewalls as well as the bases. You want any part of the ski that touches air or snow to get waxed, scraped, brushed and even an overlay on it. And another thing you can do is wax your poles, and if you’re a real badass and can withstand the pain, drip wax all over your whole body and have a friend scrape and brush you.
Ski shops have been hiding this information for years because once the public learned this secret they knew ski shops would become obsolete. It’ll be sad to see ski shops go after this but it was wrong of them to withhold this information from the public. Which is why after a couple months of working on the inside I have decided to go public with this information.
