When Shane McConkey started becoming popular the Ski industry had a giants stick up his ass and Shane set out to rip that stick from out of its dirty ass. But McConkey tragically passed back in 2009 and since then the industry seems to have found that trusty old stick again. Constantly yelling at people who are just trying to have a good time which is what skiers are supposed to do. Saying that we’re going to fast, we can’t drink in public, no skiing naked. I mean it is just despicable and we need to change it.
In those glory days of skiing during the 90s and early 2000s, skiing was a fucking wild scene. People were getting super drunk and sometimes naked and just going in hucking themselves around. Skiing was so much more fun back then, you could fucking rip around the mountain being as obnoxious and drunk as you want. And then there were big parties at the base and shit would get wild and the mountains would host fun events during those. Back in the day Sugarloaf used to hold canoe races at the base while everyone was sitting there getting fucked up and watching. Now every mountain is just so fucking scared of lawsuits that they police all that kind of shit now. There are now only a few occasions of the year wear a mountain can just be a giant party for the whole weekend. The only time I can think of is Reggae fest at Sugarloaf but I know other mountains out west have the same kind of things. And those days of Reggae fest are so much fun and I plan on attending everyone for the rest of my life.
Granted I was born in 98 so I really have no Idea what the 90s and early 2000s were like so I could be completely wrong, but this is how I perceive it to be.
