This is a sad day for the skateboarding community. Jake Phelps who has been the editor of Thrasher since ’93 has passed away. Jake was a true legend in the world of skateboarding, thrasher is the biggest magazine in skateboarding and largely because of the work he’s done. He was so raw and real and he represented everything that skating was supposed to be. And he loved skateboarding more than anyone in the world. Guys like him are what makes the sport great. It’s not the big time pros who win at xgames and make millions of dollars. It’s guys like jake who just live skateboarding, and do it every day and are just so passionate and make other people love skateboarding. No one will ever replace the legacy that Jake has built.
