This season of skiing didn’t really reel me in too much. The Americans had no good male skiers and then Mikaela just totally dominated the womens side. She won the most World Cup races in a single season and is still only 24.World Cup finals just wrapped up yesterday and everything went as expected pretty much.
We had Mikaela winning the GS,SG, and Slalom races at finals which resulted in her winning all of those crystal globes and the overall title. Did I mention she’s only 24. She is 10 years younger than Lindsay who currently holds the record for World Cup and is only 22 wins behind her for the record. Thats only 5 more than she won this season and she’s got 10 years to pass Lindsays old decrepit ass. And I think that makes her only the third person in a season to win 4 crystal globes and I feel like this may not be the last time she does.
Then we had Alexis Pinterault winning the gs race while Hirscher came in 6th, 1.7 seconds behind but he still won the crystal globe plus the globe for slalom and the overall. Hirscher has been the best tech skier in the world for the past like 10 years and the only person who has ever even been close to better than him is Pinterault. Marcel has 67 career wins and 20 crystal globes which is fucking unreal and hasn’t been done by a mens skier in a long time. And then Alexis Pinterault who is still extremely fucking nasty only has 23 total wins and 3 crystal globes. Thats how fucking dominant Hirscher has been. I have to change my pants every time his skis touch the snow.
