XGames was last week but XGames real ski just started up today and all of the edits are filled with some insane street skiing. We got sick parts from Noah Albaladejo, Emile Bergeron, Alex Hackel, Jake Mageau, Jesper Tjäder and Sam Zahner. And then theres a sick judges lineup of Tom Wallisch, LJ Strenio, Josh Berman, Mike Hornbeck and JF Houle. All of these skiers have very different styles and outlooks on skiing and I’m excited to see what the judges have to say about these guys. Here’s all of the edits, in order from my least favorite to favorite one.
Sam Zahner was a last minute replacement for Phil Casabon so he has less time to film but still managed to put out a sick edit with a couple of bangers on it. Switching it up on the rails and some sick wallrides made for a sick edit but the other competition was just better.
The Quebexican Emile Bergeron put it the fuck down for this one. This dude goes unnoticed a lot but he fuckin rips and this is proof of that. He was definitely going bigger than anyone else and his steeze is super unique and sick. but his tricks were lacking a bit so he falls near the bottom of my list.
Noah Albadajo is an insanely talented rail skier. He hits lots of sick spots in this edit and is unbelievably smooth but I need him to go a little bigger. He had some unreal rail sequences but I want him to do bigger and harder tricks.
Jesper Tjäder filmed this on a gopro and it is very obvious. This edit looks like a god damn Gopro commercial and I hate it. But Jesper is an unbelievably talented skier and does tricks in this that no one else in the world would ever even consider doing so he gets third place for me. But I mean come on with the spinning frame Jesper, this xgames real ski not a 5th grade power point presentation about fire salamanders.
Alex Hackel has become one of my favorite skiers this year and this real ski edit just adds to that. This kid is extremely creative and just does wild shit. He looks at rails so much different than most people its awesome to watch. That half polish donut thing he did under the rail was unbelievable.
Last years fan favorite Jake Mageau A.K.A Mango came out with a fucking face melter of an edit. He comes out the gate full send and never stops. Every single trick he does is a banger and all of the spots he hits are fucking sick. And I love him keeping the year of the road gap going with a sick road gap to and rail with a 270 out. I think this needs to win for the good of the skiing community but we will see what the judges/fans have to say.
