GERRIT. FUCKING. COLE. Just before the clock struck midnight last night the yankees struck gold. Brian Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner plopped their gargantuan huevos on the table with a $324 million dollar (yes you read that correctly) 9 year offer and of course he took that because he’s not a fucking idiot. Cole is now the highest payed pitcher in baseball history. The Yankees drafted Gerrit Cole in the 2008 draft with the 28th pick, three years later they tried to trade for him and Huston snag him. No way in hell the Yanks were letting him get away this time. I’m pretty sure having Cole talk to Yankee legend Andy Pettitte didn’t hurt either. Brian Cashman had his man and he got his man. Just by acquiring Gerrit Cole the Yankees are as of now CLEAR favorites to win the world series. Let’s take a look at the rotation for next year…
